Contact form and email
If you use the form, I process your name, email address, enquiry topic and message to reply and manage the conversation. The legal basis is the consent you give by checking the privacy box and submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hola@josejcastroh.com, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. If you email me directly, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract where an enquiry concerns a possible collaboration or service, or the legitimate interest in responding to other correspondence. I do not use these details for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making.
You do not need to provide personal data to browse. Your name, email address and message are needed to handle an enquiry through the form; include only what is necessary for a reply. Correspondence is retained for as long as required to address the enquiry and, if a professional relationship arises, for the periods needed to manage it, comply with legal duties and address possible claims; it is then deleted or restricted as appropriate.
Technical services and possible transfers
The hosting provider may process technical data needed to deliver and protect the site. See the hosting provider’s privacy policy.
Helvetica Neue is delivered through Adobe Fonts. Adobe states that this service does not set or use cookies to serve fonts; it may receive technical information such as the requested fonts, web-project identifier, hostname and IP address, which Adobe states it does not store. The form sends your details to FormSubmit when you press “Send message”, so the enquiry can be forwarded to the receiving mailbox. See FormSubmit’s privacy policy. Email providers are also involved. These services may involve processing outside the European Economic Area. FormSubmit’s linked policy does not specify the countries of processing or particular transfer safeguards; this notice does not claim that those safeguards have been verified.
Preferences, cookies and external content
The site stores only your language and light or dark appearance choice in your browser’s local storage. The portfolio code does not transmit these preferences. I do not use my own advertising tools. I keep aggregate counts of page views, site openings, CV downloads, email clicks and submissions accepted by the contact-form service. These counters store the day and page; incoming traffic is grouped by channel without storing full referrer addresses. This measurement does not store IP addresses, visitor identifiers or form contents, does not use tracking cookies and does not create profiles. It respects the browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. The external services described below have their own data-processing practices.
YouTube and Vimeo players load automatically when you open a page containing them. Only New Media videos attempt automatic playback, with sound and without subtitles. Documentaries and all other videos play when you press the play button. Your browser may require an interaction to allow sound, and player preferences may affect subtitles. The connection and transmission of data to the provider begin when the player loads, even if playback is blocked. YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode or Vimeo’s Do Not Track option is used; these options do not remove the connection or all data collection, and Vimeo may retain essential cookies. Providers apply their own technologies and may process data outside the European Economic Area under the policies of Google/YouTube or Vimeo. Other external links are also governed by the destination site’s terms.

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection or portability where applicable by emailing hola@josejcastroh.com. If you believe the processing is inappropriate, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency or the authority competent in your circumstances.
